Counselling
Relationship counselling is for couples, marriages, partnerships, dating and diverse relationship identities (e.g. thruples, polyamory & other ethical open formations) seeking therapy or assistance with improving relationship quality.
Research clearly indicates that relationships are vital to our overall health and wellbeing. As a social species, relationships and our social environment impact our psychological development from the earliest age, physical wellbeing, attachment and quality of life throughout the lifespan.
Meaningful and safe relationships often determine how we relate and feel about ourselves and the world around us. Relationships can also affect our capacity to engage in our individual pursuits and couple’s goals with confidence, energy & feel part of the world around us.
Many clients I consult with are from diverse cultural backgrounds, with very different contexts and social environments. I help clients to manage and resolve a wide range of relationship issues so you can move towards developing safe, engaging connections, intimacy, pleasure, and relationship satisfaction.
Working with me will help you to better understand your relationship and how your actions and emotions can have an impact on one another. With cultural sensitivity and the use of psychological science & relationship methods such as the Gottman method and the Psychobiological Approach to Couple’s Therapy (PACT), let me guide you towards relationship safety, effective communication, reduced conflict, managing difficult situations, regulating emotions, improving bonding and intimacy.
